Visitors and shoppers
Is the app free?
Yes. The Visit Gauteng app is free to download from the App Store and Google Play.
Do I need an account?
Not to browse. You can look at places, events and the Marketplace without signing in. You need an account to buy, and you must be 18 or older to create one. Sign up with email, or continue with Apple, Facebook or Google.
Can I use it without the app?
Yes. Everything in the app is also on the web at visit.gauteng.net.
How do I pay on the Marketplace?
Checkout is secured by Paystack. The Gauteng Tourism Authority collects payment for Marketplace orders.
What about delivery and returns?
Delivery, collection, returns and refunds are set out in the shipping and returns policies on visit.gauteng.net.

Vendors
Who can sell on the Gauteng Marketplace?
Registered businesses, and sole proprietors aged 18 or older, who can sell lawfully in South Africa.
How do I apply?
Sign in on visit.gauteng.net and open Become a Vendor, or in the app open the More menu and tap Become a Vendor. The application has four steps: business, contact, banking and review.
What do I need to apply?
Your business details, your ID or passport, your company registration (CIPC) documents if you are registered, a bank confirmation letter and your logo.
What does it cost?
Listing is free and there is no subscription. A commission of 11.5% applies to each sale.
Who approves my application?
The Gauteng Tourism Authority reviews every vendor application.
Businesses and event organisers
How do I list my business?
Register on the Gauteng Business Directory. It is free. You need your business name, email address, category and a short description. Submissions are reviewed and you get a confirmation by email.
My business was listed on the old Visit Gauteng site. What now?
Claim your listing instead of starting again.
Can I add my event?
Events are added by approved vendors and organisers. Apply as a vendor first, then add your event from your account.
I am planning a conference or business event.
Use the venue finder of the Gauteng Convention and Events Bureau, and send an enquiry to any venue from its page. Bid support is a free consultation.
